Joint news release from Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board, and CUPE Local 1022

December 15, 2022—A tentative collective agreement has been reached between the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board, and CUPE Local 1022. The agreement is for a 4-year period from September 1, 2022 to August 31, 2026.

Approximately 750 CUPE members are employed at HPEDSB, working in schools, administration offices and other sites, and include the following roles:

  • communicative disorder assistants;
  • custodian and maintenance workers;
  • designated early childhood educators;
  • educational assistants;
  • intervenors;
  • IT technologists and analysts;
  • library technicians;
  • other technical staff;
  • secretaries and clerical staff; and
  • student supervision monitors.

Ratification votes by CUPE and the Board of Trustees are expected in the coming weeks. No further details will be released at this time.
