North Hastings High School student art featured in public exhibit

March 25, 2022-A Place for the Arts is hosting "Emerging (A)Vocations" at their Annex Gallery starting April 1, 2022, featuring the art of numerous students from North Hastings High School (NHHS) in Grades 9 to 12.

Andrew Edgar, Visual Arts teacher at NHHS, and show organizer, says students are encouraged to produce art that draws on techniques from the masters and they are encouraged to make art that communicates ideas, emotions, and comments on issues.

"Throughout this challenging year of dealing with a pandemic, the students of North Hastings High School have risen to the occasion and demonstrated resilience by continuing to develop artistic skill sets while hoping to return to things set in place before the pandemic, regular school events and extracurriculars. The artworks presented in this show are from students, looking to their future, understanding the challenges of our recent collective past."
