HPEDSB Summer School registration instructions

 

Students are eligible to take one Online Summer School Course

Summer School 2025 courses will be held online, from July 2 - 29, totalling 110 hours of instruction. All courses will provide asynchronous engagement via the VLE (Brightspace) platform. Students must have daily access to reliable internet and a laptop or Chromebook.

Grade 8 students who are entering grade 9 are invited to register in Reach Ahead Summer School to earn a high school credit. These courses will count towards the 2 mandatory secondary school online learning graduation requirements.

Please refer to the full list of course offerings for 2025. For courses not listed in our Course Offerings, please contact your Guidance Counselor to learn more about available options from other school boards.

Registration

Steps to REGISTER

1. HPE students log into the VLE from the HPE website using their usual school login.
   Contact your school Guidance Department if you need assistance.
2. Once logged in, click on at the top of the page, then Continuing Education on the left.
3. Follow these instructions to select your course.
4. Non HPE students may register through their home school guidance department.
5. Once you have submitted your course selection, monitor your email to receive notification that confirms course registration.

Logging into your course

1. Students log in to the VLE using their usual school log in credentials.
2. Summer school courses open July 2, 2025, students will find their course listed under My Courses.

Special Education support

Teachers have access to all student IEPS and include this information in their planning for student success.

The Summer School Student Success Teacher is available to support.
