July 12, 2023—Welcome and congratulations to Narin Kishinchandani, appointed Superintendent of Business Services and Treasurer at Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board, effective September 1, 2023.
Kishinchandani comes to HPEDSB as an experienced superintendent, having been in a similar role at Calgary Catholic School District for the past five years. He has led a team of 60 staff in the areas of finance, risk, supply management and international students.
Welcome to Narin Kishinchandani, new Superintendent of Business Services, effective September 1, 2023.
Prior to his work at CCSD, he spent 15 years with Enbridge Inc. in Toronto and Calgary in various vice-president roles, including performance management, and financial performance and analysis.
"We are fortunate to have an experienced superintendent join HPEDSB. Narin’s knowledge, skills and abilities will complement those of the senior leadership team. We are looking forward to learning with and from him,” said Katherine MacIver, Director of Education.
Kishinchandani has managed organizational financial health within a fiscally constrained environment, while maintaining a focus on key success factors and strategic goals. He has contributed to shaping strategic direction, building a continuous improvement mindset, and ensuring strategic alignment of the various departments under his leadership to students and learning.
Kishinchandani’s track record has a strong focus on customer service through building culture and creating an inclusive, positive work environment. He mentors and coaches staff to deliver their best through the adoption of a continuous improvement mindset. He is well-respected and admired by his peers and direct reports.
"I'm looking forward to joining HPEDSB in a senior leadership role, supporting such a dynamic public education organization. Some of my first steps will be to get settled in the community, meet staff, students and families," said Kishinchandani.
HPEDSB launched a process to recruit a superintendent of Business Services in the spring following the announced retirement of Superintendent Nick Pfeiffer.
Kishinchandani will be responsible for business, facility and IT departments. He and his family will be relocating to Ontario.
