Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board

Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board policies and procedures are undertaken with the intent to achieve the goals of equity, decolonization, inclusion, anti-racism, anti-oppression and accessibility, and in compliance with obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code and related policies.

A policy is an approved principle that supports governance by the Board of Trustees. Policies are created, reviewed and approved by Board members. A procedure is an administrative statement that directs actions by staff. Procedures are created, reviewed and approved by senior staff.

Policies and procedures reinforce the distinction between the Board's responsibility to govern and the Director of Education's responsibility to administrative duties.
