Posted on 06/19/2023

June 19, 2023—At the end of May, the public was invited to community drop-ins to review possible accommodation options for students/schools and share new ideas that hadn't already been considered.

The feedback has been compiled and is shared below, unedited.

  • keep French Immersion at Bayside Secondary School;
  • expand French Immersion to more Belleville schools;
  • adjust the boundary area for Frankford Public School to enable students to attend Trenton High School;
  • change the boundary area for Susanna Moodie Elementary School;
  • expand French Immersion at Prince Edward Collegiate Institute to Grade 12; and

Over the summer, staff will review and analyze the data in greater detail. As part of the process, community consultation will be scheduled in fall 2023, with the goal of making a decision by the end of 2023. Transition planning is proposed to begin in 2024.
