September 26, 2023—September 25 to 30, 2023, is Truth and Reconciliation week. This week honours the lost children and survivors of residential schools, their families, and the resiliency of their communities. This year, a new flag, the Survivor's Flag, has been released by the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation. The flag is hanging on the south side wall of the Education Centre this week to commemorate Truth and Reconciliation week.

Survivor's flag

The Survivor's Flag is an expression of remembrance, meant to honour residential school Survivors and all the lives and communities impacted by the residential school system in Canada. Each element depicted on the flag was carefully selected by Survivors from across Canada, who were consulted in the flag’s creation.
